Completely lost it..

My blog mojo. I have been busy crafting away but to sit and actually get things posted havent been my fav these days.

Lots of updates tho
Im all up to date with my ATW Sal. These are the latest 2 parts

Sizzix was having a sale 2 weeks ago and I ended up increasing my dies stash by a few items :)

Jenny came to visit on the long weekend for a craft afternoon/evening. She was working on a table runner and I made this cute little bag. The left over fabric was enough to make a table runner also (this one still needs finishing)

I have started a new stitching project called It's Cold Outside from the Historical Sampler Company. I am using 11count Aida Fabric and a Perle 10 threat. This is suppose to be a fun and quick project in between everything. Will post photo soon
Made 2 baby blankets for IPB Charity and finally manage a Spring Cleaning. I now have space for a desk in my bedroom. Watch this space for more news :)

Not much...

I have been away from blogland for the past couple of weeks. And I do miss read what other people have been up to. It gives me a kick to start a new project or to turn UFOs into WIPs. Unfortunately there are other things at the moment that need my attention and by the time clock shows 9pm Im already half dead walking around the house, trying to make sense of what i can get sorted for the next day that would make my life easier.... And then I just give up and go to bed

I did finish part 18 of ATW (Sorry for the photo. It was night time, and my light wasnt on and flash just made it worse....)

I am very close of finishing my butterly. So maybe will post again before weekend ends.

AND IT IS A LONG WEEKEND! Happy Paddys Day :)

Updates

Happy New Year all!!! Wish you a health and happy 2014!

It is been a while since my last post. I have only 3 updates and I blame the lack of motivation on my wrist and elbow. I was in so much pain before Xmas that I could barely look at a needle.
I did manage to get this done: (up-to-date with this project)

Part 16 of ATW80
I have done some work on my HAED while on holidays but no photo yet. Stitched only the main colour. Lots of confetti to go now (not looking forward to it...)

And my New Year, New Project start is Positive Thinking Sal from a french blogger (here). This Sal is now finished and there are 5 parts. Have just finished part 1

Yvonne is hosting a card challenge on her the Facebook group and I came up with this one. It is very simple and it was what I came up with considering I still have 3 bags to unpack and all the laundry from our holidays. I have used 2 different embossing folders, 2 different sizes Star dies, 2 different sizes Oval dies, a Swirl die and the Tim Holtz Flowers die. Paper is from stash.

My wish for this new year is to craft more than last year. Trying to find time to seat and get something finished is very hard, but I will do my best

It will be a long post...

For some strange reason I havent felt like turning on my computer in ages... My phone doesnt let me upload photos onto blogspot, and for this reason, I have lots of updates. Grab a cuppa :)

Firt is Eddie's Birthday Invitations. He is turning 4 in a couple of weeks and we are celebrating it with a small party for the kids at the Pirate Village. Because the place is responsible for activities and the food (apart from cake, which BTW is already ordered - Im so organized this time...) I had time to come up with some funky invitations. I googled 'Pirate Invitation' and this came up on images, so credit to Notablenest and thank you for the idea!

(I have finally learnt how to turn my photos!!)

I have copied the design and changed the text a bit and Eddie loves it! I have made 12 of these and the main reason is because some adults, while I was showing my prototype and asking for opinions, they've asked if they would receive one as well. I had so much fun doing these. We have cancelled all the previous parties (he was either sick, in hospital, or something bad happened..) so this is one is big to us!

And because I havent blogged in a while I have some stitching updates. Firts is my HAED. I have finished the first row and so far have worked 3 pages on row 2. Thats because Im working the main colour first so I can follow the swirls and then going back with the confetti stitches once the page is complete with the main colour.
HAED - Update Nov-13
Then I have my ATW which is up-to-date. I have finished the latest part (cant remember now if 14 or 15..)

And finally, I've met with Maire this week, from Henry the Bear Blanketteers, for more squares to be made up for the hospital. I asked for lots to keep me busy and this is what she gave me

I guess I will have lots to work on :) I dont really mind because apart from the HAED and ATW I have no other projects. Im kitting up some patterns for next year, going through my To-Stitch list, cutting pages from magazines, laminating them and leaving things ready, but no stitching really. So on my days off (while Eddie is at pre-school) I can start adding them together and the edge is quite easy to work on once they are all stitched up.

I have warned you this was going to be a long post lol

Nothing like some 'me-time'...

to get you projects up to date!

It's mid-term and Eddie has no pre-shcool this week. So what to do when you have 2 days off during the week, lots of projects you want to touch and the feeling that the kid will get bored in the early hours of the morning? You book the kid to a Halloween camp. 9am to 3pm. Thats what I did and it was money well spent, if you ask me. It was only for today as he is back to creche tomorrow but today was really my only day off this week since Knit and Stitch show is on Thursday and I intend to stay as long as I can there, looking at all the pretty things I could buy....
Anyway, since I had morning all for myself, I've decided to stitch my ATW. I was a bit late with this one as Yvonne has already released part 15 and last part I stitched was 13. Here it is:

And I even managed to look after my herbs with some spare time. So it was money well spent!

Aiveen has kindly sent me some bats for my Halloween treat-boxes. I have made 11 boxes for family and friends but I thought the orange box was a bit to plain. So I inked the edges and stuck the bats. THANK YOU AIVEEN!!

And yesterday I finished the first row of my HAED but this will be another post.... (only 5 more rows to go, looking forward to it...)

Part 11 ATW Finished

This one was fairly quick. Started Monday night and finished last night. And I only stich for 1.5h/day.
I guess I got used to the fabric by now.

Here is the photo:

And Im the happiest Mum today: Hubby gave me a late Mothers Day pressie. A new hair dryer! The brush type, the one the styles the hair and bla bla bla. He knew I was looking for one for ages, and every time I save enough to buy a good one Eddie gets sick and I end up spending on meds (because you know, this is not an essential item - I already have a good normal hair dryer - so it has to be bought with spare money...). So Im happy!!!

Thats me for today

Around the world Part 10

I cant believe it is March already! Where did the month ago??

This week was the ATW turn on my rotation. Part 10 came out last week and some ladies were very quick and Papillon already has some lovely work in display. It was such a quick part to stitch and even tho, it took me a week to get it finished. I just lost the stitching bug and had to push myself to finish it.

ATW80 - Part 10 - Close up

This week I will be working on Birds from Angie. Part was released last Monday and I will be working on the darker colours this time, but I do think tha part is quite big. I have til April to stitch it so should be ok.

ATW80 and Birds

Is it just me or has the weather gone mental these days?
It was a lovely, around 12C, then as soon as I got home from weekly groceries, a hailstone storm, and now temperature has dropped below 2C. No wonder I have a cold and my little boy is suffering with ashtma attacks.

Anyhow...

Finished part 9 on my ATW80. This was so quick and fun. One afternoon, thats all it took!!! Very proud of myself. Even my lazy daisy stitches look better on this part.

ATW80 - Part 9 Close up

ATW80 - Part 9 Complete piece

Last night I finished Part 2 on Angie Sampler called Birds. Im using the colours recommended on pattern. She is not sending next part til 25/feb so lots of time to work on other projects now.

Birds Sampler - Part 1/2

Im hoping to start my HAED this week but not sure if I will be able to. I wish my days had 30hours and my son would sleep for those extra hours, so I could just seat and stitch to my own content. It's so hard when you are trying to stitch and little hands are trying very hard to get the magnetic from the fabric because 'they are magic coins that stick to the hot wheels cars'.

It's Nearly Christmas! And the world didnt end!

I have been very naughty and havent posted anything in a while, but I do have good excuses tho: It was my birthday ont he 4th, my son's birthday on the 9th (Little Eddie has turned 3), my nephews Christening and my parents/brother/brothers girlfriend coming to stay with us for Christmas. They arrived on the 15th and my house has been mental since then.

But you will be happy to know I have been stitching and my needles are smoking :)

Finished part 8 of my ATW project. This was quite pleasant apart from the damn lazy daisy stitches. Dont know what the matter with them. It's never quite nice, round or symetric.

ATW80 - Part 8 - Full piece

Then I had some more done on my House of Needleworker from LHN

LHN - House of Needleworker

And the postman has brought me these stitched ATCs. They are from a birthday exchange group at the Craftbubble community and Im delighted with them.

I have been naughty and bought lots of threads at 123stitch. Got the email saying they have despatched it already so now is back to stalk my postman!

And last but not least, my little man (cant believe he is 3 already...) and his new hair cut.The crochet blank is from the Henry Bear foundation. He was given it when leaving ICU after a heart surgery 2 years ago. He loves it soo much that I keep it on my couch so we can cuddle while watching tv. Please dont mind my stitch stuff in the background!

Hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas and may God Bless your house.

Papillon Part 7 finished

I will start by Thanking you all for all the wonderful messages I got on my first post last week. I've had nearly 200 visits since then and quite a number of followers so far, so a big thank you to all of you!

I've been having a busy week and somehow I managed to stitch quite a lot in my spare time.

I have finished part 7 of the SAL ATW80s. I am enjoying this piece so much. All the new stitches to learn!

So here are the photos:

Part 7 - Around the World in 80 Stitches

Part 7 close-up

Complete piece

Isnt it a beauty?

Last week, while doing my groceries, I spotted the latest CrossStitcher mag, and even tho I promised myself I wasnt gonna buy anymore magazines until I can clear out my bookshelf, I couldnt resist this one. It's full of Christmas patterns and I just love stitching Christmas ornaments. So after reasoning for hours, I've given up, bought the mag and went straight looking for materials to stitch a small and simple pattern.

Pattern from CrossStitcher magazine - November/2012 issue

Photo is not doing any justice to the fabric. It is a bright pistachio green and looks gorgeous with the bright blue
And a huge Thank you to my dear Jenny who gave me the felt for the little fish

I am still learning my way around this blog, so please ladies, if you are still having problems to stalk me or can see photos, please let me know and I will try and fix it as soon as I can.
